The New York Yankees just swept the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park and it wasn’t particularly close. Across this entire series the Bronx outscored Boston by a margin that should make every Red Sox fan uncomfortable heading into the summer. This was a statement road trip.

The Bronx is 16-9 on the season and playing with the kind of controlled confidence that dangerous baseball teams carry in April. Not flashy. Not lucky. Just winning the way good teams win — pitching, defense, timely hitting.

The Red Sox are now 9-15 and trending in the wrong direction. The Yankees just made that worse.

Series sweep. On the road. In Boston. The Bronx doesn’t miss.
