Yankees Sweep the Astros in Houston. The Bronx is the Hottest Team in Baseball.Yankees

There is no other way to say this. The New York Yankees are the hottest team in baseball right now.

Three games in Houston. Three wins. The Bronx outscored the Astros 28 runs to 7 across the entire series. That is not a close series that went New York’s way — that is a dominant road trip against a quality American League opponent in one of the toughest road environments in baseball.

Think about the context of this run. The Yankees swept Boston at Fenway — one of the most hostile parks in the AL East. Then they came to Houston and did the same thing to the Astros. Back to back road series sweeps. In two of the best road parks in the league.

This is what a team looks like when everything is working at the same time. The starting rotation is giving New York length. The bullpen is protecting leads. The lineup is putting crooked numbers on the board early and making opposing pitchers uncomfortable from the first inning.

The Yankees are now among the best records in the American League and playing with the kind of sustained confidence that championship teams carry through the summer months. April is not October — but the habits you build in April are the ones that define October.

The Bronx doesn’t rebuild. It reloads. Right now it looks very, very loaded.

On the road. On a roll. 🔒
