The New York Knicks took Game 5 at Madison Square Garden tonight and the series lead is theirs — 3-2 over the Atlanta Hawks. After three of the most stressful games in recent Knicks playoff history, including two one-point losses and a must-win road game, New York has control of this series with a chance to close it out in six.
MSG was every bit of what a playoff home game at the Garden is supposed to be. From the opening tip the noise was relentless. The crowd understood the moment — series tied, home court back, chance to take control — and they delivered the energy this team needed.
